A man was critically wounded during one of two possibly gang-related shootings in Long Beach Sunday, authorities said.

The first shooting happened at 1:17AM on the 6800 block of Curtis Avenue, according to Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). The incident was close to McKinley Elementary School and near the border of the city of Paramount.

Officers responding to the shots fired call located a man with multiple gun shots to his upper torso, she said. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition.

Authorities do not have suspect information available at this time.

Police responded to the second shooting at 7:50PM on the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard, near the Lakewood border.

“Officers arrived and discovered several residences had been struck with what appeared to be gunfire,” Pratt said. “No subjects were injured and no suspects are in custody.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
