Long Beach police say a man was killed Saturday night when a driver crashed into him on Wardlow Road near Norwalk Boulevard.
The crash happened around 9:05 p.m. when a woman driving a Honda CR-V hit the man, “who was in the roadway outside of any crosswalk,” the Long Beach Police Department said.
It’s not clear why the man was in the road.
Medics rushed the man to the hospital, where he died, police said. His name and age have not been publicly released while authorities work to notify his family.
“The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation,” police said. “At this time, speed, distracted driving, and driving under the influence are not considered to be contributing factors in the collision.”
