A man was hospitalized after being stabbed near Anaheim Street and Redondo Avenue Thursday morning, but few details about the attack were available, according to Long Beach police.

Police said the stabbing happened shortly before 7:15 a.m. After the stabbing, the wounded man walked about a block and then called 911 from near the intersection, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

The man was stabbed in the torso, but his wounds weren’t life-threatening, she said.

Police said they don’t know who stabbed the man or why at this point. He was not very cooperative with authorities, according to police.
