A man is in critical condition after being shot during an argument along Second Street, according to authorities.
Police say the shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of East Second Street, which is in Long Beach’s Alamitos Beach neighborhood.
The victim was arguing with an unknown male suspect when the dispute escalated into the shooting, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the man to a local hospital to be treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body, police said. He remains in critical but stable condition, police said Wednesday afternoon.
No arrests have been made as the suspect fled in an unknown direction before officers arrived. No additional suspect information is known and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
