A man was hospitalized in critical condition Friday night after being stabbed in North Long Beach, and police are still looking for the person responsible, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police say the stabbing happened sometime around 8:13 p.m. in the area of 67th Way and Obispo Street, which is just north of the 91 Freeway.
The man was exiting his car when an unknown suspect approached him and then stabbed him from behind, police said. It’s not clear what weapon was used in the stabbing.
The man was located soon after by emergency personnel and taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, the LBPD said. Meanwhile, police are still looking for the suspect, who fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
A motive for the stabbing is not known and no suspect information is available at this time, according to police.
