A man was shot Thursday evening in Long Beach and is in stable condition, police said Friday.

Long Beach police responded to a shooting call on the 6000 block of Linden Avenue at about 5:00PM, said Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesperson Nancy Pratt.

Arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound, who was transported to a local hospital and is reported as in stable condition.

The incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related and gang detectives were called in to assist with the investigation, Pratt said.

No suspect information is available, and police did not have any additional information. We will update this story as we learn more.
