A man was injured during a possible gang-related shooting in Long Beach Thursday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Pine Avenue at 2:18PM on Thursday, April 21 regarding reports of a shooting, LBPD spokesman Brad Johnson said.

β€œAn initial report came in that a subject was seen shooting a gun in the air,” said Johnson.

He said police were then advised of a shooting victim that arrived at a local hospital. They were reportedly shot on the 1800 block of Pine Avenue, he said.

The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The injury is considered non-life-threatening.

The shooting is being investigated as possibly gang-related. No suspect is in custody.
