A man told police that several masked men shot him after they robbed him early this morning near the Port of Long Beach.

The man told police he was walking in the 700 block of Queensway Drive, which is the same block as the Hotel Maya, around 12:50 a.m. when three men approached him, according to LBPD spokesman Brandon Fahey.

The three masked men reportedly robbed the victim, shot him in the lower body and then drove off in a white sedan, Fahey said.

Police searched the area and found bullet casings, but they’re still looking for the suspects, according to the LBPD.

The victim’s wounds weren’t life-threatening, Fahey said, but medics took him to a local hospital for treatment.

Police asked anyone with information that could help catch the robbers to call investigators at 562-570-7370 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
