Police said a man fired a gun into the air during a physical altercation in North Long Beach Saturday night.

It’s not clear what prompted the disagreement, but police said it broke out in the 200 block of  East Market Street around 10:21 p.m. and soon escalated into gunfire.

Nobody was hurt, and no arrests have been made, police said.

Investigators are still trying to gather a suspect description and further information on a motive.
