A man was left with non-life threatening injuries after being shot on Saturday night.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers arrived on the scene near the area of 8th St. and Cedar Ave. around 9:35PM after receiving a call about a possible shooting victim, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

Arriving officers found a man who had sustained a gunshot wound, and Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim’s injury appeared to be non-life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are investigating the incident as possibly gang-related. No other information was available. We will update the story as we learn more.
