Police say they’re looking for a shooter who wounded a man while he was walking along Olive Avenue in Long Beach Thursday night.

The man told police he was near Seventh Street around 11 p.m. when “an unknown suspect exited an unknown vehicle and fired shots at him,” LBPD spokesman Brandon Fahey said.

The victim ran, and police rushed to the scene where they found bullet casings but no suspect, Fahey said.

Medics took the victim to a local hospital to treat him for a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Fahey.

Police said they don’t have information yet on a motive or suspect.

They asked anyone with information to contact investigators at 562-570-7370 or submit an anonymous tip at lacrimestoppers.org.
