A man shot at a driver in Bixby Knolls just after 9 p.m. Sunday night, police said.

Police initially responded to Long Beach Boulevard and Bixby Road for reports of shots fired. There, they found bullet casings, indicating that a shooting happened. A man then called police from his home saying he was in his vehicle in the area when he was shot at, police spokesman Brandon Fahey said.

“The victim stated that he was driving his vehicle and came to a stop when an adult male suspect approached his vehicle, shot at him, and fled the scene before officers arrived,” Fahey said.

The shooting left bullet holes in the victim’s car.
