Police are looking for whoever shot at a man but missed in Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. on Oregon Avenue near 21st Street, Long Beach police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said.

When officers got to the scene, they found a man on the sidewalk who’d been shot at, but the gunfire hadn’t hit him, Dandoy said.

Any suspects were gone before police arrived, she said. Police couldn’t immediately provide any details on what led up to the shooting or any suspect description, but, they said they suspect the shooting may be gang related.

They asked anyone with information to contact detectives at 562-570-7370. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or lacrimestoppers.org.
