A wounded man walked into the Long Beach Police Department’s Downtown headquarters after he was shot near The Pike Outlets Sunday evening, according to authorities.

Police said the shooting happened just before 8 p.m. near The Paseo and Aquarium Way. That’s where an unknown gunman confronted the victim and shot him, wounding him in the upper body, police said.

The victim went to the police station at 400 West Broadway where paramedics treated him and took him to a local hospital in stable condition, according to the LBPD.

Police said the shooter fled. Investigators are still trying to put together a description and determine a motive, police said.
