Long Beach police are investigating two separate stabbings that left a man and woman injured Friday night.

In the first incident, officers went to the intersection of Pine Avenue and W. Broadway around 11:30 p.m. to find a man who had a stab wound to his upper body, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital, but his injury was not life threatening, she said.

“The victim was uncooperative during the officers’ preliminary investigation and could not recall how he sustained his injury,” De Prez said.

In the second incident, officers were called to a local hospital just after 5 a.m. Saturday where they talked to a woman with a non-life threatening stab wound to her lower body, according to De Prez.

The woman told officers she had been stabbed earlier in the area of 14th Street and Atlantic Avenue, near Poly High School. Officers looked in the area, but weren’t able to find a crime scene, De Prez said.

Police ask anyone with information on these incidents to call Long Beach Police Department non-emergency dispatch at 562-435-6711.
