Police say a man was struck by gunfire early this morning in North Long Beach but he was not forthcoming with information about the shooting.
At about 1:46 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting, according to Long Beach police.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment of the injury, which was not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Officers found a scene where the shooting happened, but the victim was “uncooperative,” police said.
No details were immediately available about the suspect, motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
