Police say a man who reportedly pointed a gun at a woman during a road rage incident barricaded himself inside a Naples Island home but surrendered after a brief SWAT standoff.

The situation started around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday when officers responded to a report of a road rage incident near Second Street and Bayshore Avenue, according to Long Beach police.

When they arrived, a woman told officers that a man had pointed a firearm at her, police said.

She provided a description of his vehicle, which officers found in the 5500 block of East The Toledo where they attempted to call the suspect out of a nearby residence, police said.

A SWAT team was requested to the scene.

A short time later, the man surrendered himself to officers and was arrested “without incident,” police said.

The man’s name and age were not immediately available.
