Officials are investigating a hit-and-run, which they say a child was the victim of.
Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 10th St. and Temple Ave. at about 3:22PM regarding an injury hit-and-run, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.
Upon arrival, police found a nine-year-old boy had been hit by a car, which fled the scene.
The boy said he was hit by the headlight area of the vehicle, said Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Heflin.
The boy complained of right leg pain, but his mother signed out against medical advice and didn’t want him transported, Heflin said.
The LBFD had the scene clear at about 4:00PM.
The driver returned to the scene and will be cited and released, Arrona said.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information was available. We will update this story as we learn more.
