Police say a gang-related shooting on Long Beach Boulevard left one man dead and a second man wounded.

At about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of Long Beach Boulevard, which is just south of Pacific Coast Highway, according to Long Beach police.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting scene and were notified that two men with gunshot wounds had been dropped off at a local hospital, police said.

One of the victims, identified as 32-year-old Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla of Long Beach, was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. The second victim was listed in stable condition, police said.

Homicide detectives believe the shooting was gang-related, police said, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting were under investigation.
