One man was killed and three were wounded in a shooting Sunday morning in a Downtown Long Beach parking lot. The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) responded to a shots-fired call near 6th and Long Beach Boulevard at 3AM Sunday and upon arrival at a Denny’s parking lot where the incident occurred, LBPD discovered four adult victims, one of which was deceased at the scene.
The three victims who survived their wounds were transported to a nearby hospital and are currently in stable condition. The victim was identified Sunday night as Charles Edward Bell II, 33, of Compton, according to coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz.
According to Marlene Arrona of the LBPD, the incident is possibly gang-related and the investigation is ongoing.
