A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after an exchange of gunfire in Long Beach’s Washington neighborhood, police said.

Police said two groups of men were arguing in the 1300 block of Pine Avenue, just north of Anaheim Street, when they traded gunfire just after 9 p.m.

Officers were notified of the shooting and responded to the scene where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

He was taken to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel for treatment, police said, adding that his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

It’s not clear what the men were arguing about, and no suspect information is known, according to police, who said the investigation is ongoing.
