Long Beach police screened more than 400 drivers and arrested four people suspected of driving under the influence Saturday night at a checkpoint near the Washington neighborhood.

Police also cited 14 people for unsafe driving, 12 drivers for being unlicensed and two for driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Officers manned the checkpoint between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Daisy Avenue.

Officers saw 1,244 drivers go through the checkpoint and, of those, screened 409.

The LBPD emphasized that driving under the influence includes marijuana and other drugs.
