Police searched part of a North Long Beach neighborhood after getting reports of a parolee possibly armed with a handgun, but they ultimately came up empty Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Police got a call about the man, who had a warrant out for his arrest, around 10 a.m. in the 400 block of Louise Street, LBPD spokesman Sgt. James Richardson said.

Officers surrounded the area and used a helicopter and K-9 trying to find him, according to police.

“After a lengthy search of the area the suspect was not located,” Richardson said.
