Long Beach homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 73-year-old man found stabbed this morning inside his home just south of the 405 Freeway and west of Pacific Avenue.
At about 7:40 a.m., officers responding to a residence in the 200 block of West Wardlow Road found a 73-year-old man with a stab wound, according to Long Beach police.
The area is mostly medical or industrial buildings, except for the Regent Villa assisted living facility, but police declined to answer if that’s where the man lived.
The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police have not, at this point, labeled his death a homicide, calling it an “undetermined death.” The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
Homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances.
Anyone with information regarding the incident was urged to contact Homicide Detectives Michael Hubbard and Lisette Temblador at 562-570-7244.
