Detectives on Friday night found shell casings in a Washington neighborhood after getting reports of shots fired, authorities said.

Officers got to the scene in the area of Cedar Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway at about 8:15 p.m., spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said. There, they found bullet casings in front of a home.

No injuries were reported from the incident and the suspects fled before officers got there, she said. Gang detectives are investigating the incident as possibly gang related. The LBPD defines gang-related crimes as any crime committed “for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with any criminal street gang.”
