Police are investigating a mid-day robbery at the U.S. Bank in Downtown Long Beach on Wednesday.

Long Beach Police Department officers dispatched to the bank, located at 555 East Ocean Blvd., at about noon regarding the robbery, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona. 

Detectives were on the scene following the robbery and the bank was closed and blocked off with tape.

Arrona said police are searching for the suspect, whose description was not immediately available. 

No further information was available, and the investigation is ongoing, Arrona said.
