Police say two gunmen attacked a man during a robbery in North Long Beach on Saturday around 9:45 p.m.

The victim was on Long Beach Boulevard near 55th Street when two men approached him, “struck him with a firearm and demanded his belongings, which escalated when one of the suspects discharged a firearm,” the Long Beach Police Department said on its website.

The gunfire didn’t hit anyone, according to police, and the suspects fled before officers arrived.
