Long Beach police are trying to find whoever shot at a truck as it drove away in the Washington neighborhood Wednesday night.

Someone called police about shots being fired around 9:30 p.m. near Chestnut Avenue and 14th Street, LBPD Sgt. Alvino Herrera said.

“When officers arrived, they located bullet casings in the street nearby but could not locate any victims or suspects,” Herrera said.

Investigators think the gunman fired a handgun at the truck “occupied by an unknown number of people as it was driving away,” Herrera said.

Police are still investigating.
