Long Beach police arrested two people and found a gun after a short pursuit ended with several people bailing out of a car and running, according to authorities.

The chase started around 5 p.m. Saturday when officers saw a car driving erratically and tried to pull it over on surface streets near the 710 Freeway and Anaheim Street, LBPD spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

“When the driver of the vehicle did not pull over, officers initiated a vehicle pursuit northbound on the 710 Freeway,” De Prez said.

The driver soon crashed at the 710’s Willow Street off-ramp, prompting four men to get out of the car and take off running, according to police.

“The driver of the vehicle and one of the passengers were apprehended by officers without incident and transported to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries before being booked,” De Prez said.

She said officers searched for the other two men but weren’t able to find them. Police, however, did find a gun in the car, according to De Prez.
