A man was hospitalized Thursday night after someone shot into a West Long Beach home, wounding him, according to police.

The gunfire broke out around 9:20 p.m. on Parade Street near Harbor Avenue, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

Police couldn’t immediately say where the man was shot, just that he was shot multiple times. Paramedics took him to the hospital to treat the wounds, which weren’t life-threatening, Chavarria said.

It’s also unclear if the shooter or shooters fired at him through a window or door. Police would only say that the man was inside and the shooter or shooters were outside.

Any suspects fled before officers arrived, according to Chavarria.

Gang detectives are still investigating and trying to determine a motive for the shooting, Chavarria said. Police asked that anyone with information contact investigators at (562) 570-7370.
