RyanMcClainA Long Beach man was arrested on Friday in connection with a series of recent indecent exposure reports in the Alamitos Beach area, authorities announced.

Ryan McClain, 24, was suspected of exposing himself to victims in the Cherry Avenue and 3rd Street area between May and September of 2015, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) said in a statement.

According to victims, the suspect gained entry to an apartment complex after breaking the entry gate lock.

“During the night, the suspect would stand in front of the victims’ windows as he masturbated, then fled utilizing surrounding alleys to escape,” LBPD officials stated.

After increasing patrols in the area, officers found a “suspicious person” lurking in an alley on September 24, and sent the information to detectives on the case.

Through their investigation, detectives identified McClain as the suspect and presented their case to the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office, according to the release.

The prosecutor’s office then filed the case and issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Friday, October 2, officers found McClain near Broadway and Cherry Avenue and took him into custody on the outstanding warrant, authorities said.

He is currently being held at Los Angeles County Jail on $75,000 bail, pending arraignment.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are attempting to identify additional victims. Anyone who has been a victim and has not yet reported the incident to police, or anyone who has information regarding this case, is encouraged to contact Long Beach Police Special Victims Section Detectives Stacey Holdredge and Patrick Jennings at 562.570.7368.
