A Long Beach man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after shooting someone in Riverside last week, according to authorities.

Antonio Corleon Jimenez, 21, is suspected of shooting a man around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in a residential area of Menifee, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies headed to the scene of the crime and found a wounded man in the 27000 block of Boston Drive, according to the department.

“He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for his injury,” authorities said in a news release.

Investigators didn’t reveal how they identified Jimenez as the suspect, but they arrested him in Long Beach a day after the shooting with help from the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the sheriff’s department.

He’s being held on $1 million bail at a the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, jail records show.
