A man was shot while standing in his driveway near the northernmost edge of Long Beach Monday evening, according to authorities.

Long Beach police said the man was wounded when a car pulled up next to him and someone inside opened fire around 8 p.m. in the 300 block of East 68th Street, which is just northwest of where the 91 and 710 freeways meet.

The gunfire hit the victim in the lower body, and paramedics took him to the hospital to treat a wound that wasn’t life-threatening, police said. The gunfire also hit two parked cars nearby, according to the LBPD.

Police didn’t provide a detailed description of the gunman or the car, but they said the incident is believed to be gang-related.

Detectives are still investigating.
