Long Beach police are investigating a shooting at Carlie’s Bar near Bixby Knolls that left one man injured, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at the bar, located at 4911 Long Beach Blvd., at about 10:40 p.m. Friday night. They found bullet casings and what appeared to be blood at the scene, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

“The preliminary investigation determined that there was an altercation inside the business that lead to the shooting,” De Prez said.

The officers were notified that a man took himself to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper torso, she said.

A woman who answered the bar’s phone said they had no comment.

Gang detectives are still investigating the shooting.
