A man is expected to survive after being shot multiple times in North Long Beach Sunday evening, police said.

It’s unclear what lead up to the shooting, but police are looking for a car they think is connected to it.

Police said someone called them about the gunfire on Atlantic Avenue near 61st Street around 5:55 p.m.

When officers got there, they found a man on the sidewalk, Long Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said. He’d been shot in the upper body and lower body, she said.

Medics took him to the hospital to treat wounds that didn’t appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Detectives are looking for a dark-colored, four-door sedan that they think is connected to the shooting, but any further description of the car or shooter wasn’t immediately available.
