A gunman shot into a car and wounded a man during a domestic dispute near El Dorado Park in Long Beach this morning, according to police.

Police said they got a call about the shooting around 7:30 a.m. and quickly found the victim, who was by then a few miles away near the intersection of Edgefield Street and Woodruff Avenue in Lakewood, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

The man said he’d been shot earlier that morning near the intersection of Studebaker Road and Willow Street, according to De Prez. Medics took him to the hospital to treat wounds that weren’t life-threatening, according to De Prez.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and an adult male suspect were involved in a domestic dispute which resulted in shots being fired into an inhabited vehicle,” she said.

Police were able to find the suspected gunman and arrest him in Long Beach, according to De Prez. Police didn’t immediately release his name but said he’d been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
