Police found a man with a gunshot wound to his lower body in a Downtown Long Beach alley early Thursday morning, officials said.

Officers were first called to the alley near Fifth Street and Chestnut Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. where they found the wounded man, public information officer Daisy Paul said.

Paramedics took him to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else reported injuries and the officers weren’t able to find any other evidence of the shooting, Paul said.

It’s unclear where the man was shot and the victim was uncooperative with the investigation, she said.
