A 32-year-old Signal Hill man pleaded not guilty today to sexually molesting two women in Long Beach, announced the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

David Faavale Tautolo was charged with eight felonies, including two counts of kidnapping to commit another crime, two counts of forcible rape, and one count each of forcible oral copulation, attempted sodomy by use of force, sodomy by use of force and making criminal threats.

There were also special allegations that he committed kidnapping with multiple victims.

Prosecutor and Deputy District Attorney Safaan Ahmed said Tautolo forced the first victim into his car from a bus stop on January 14 before driving away and sexually assaulting her inside the car. The victim was eventually able to get away and call police.

Ahmed also said that on October 16, Tautolo attacked a second victim by forcing her into his car and taking her into an alleyway, where he raped her. The victim called police after the assault, and authorities located and arrested Tautolo the following day.

Tautolo’s next expected court date is January 20 for a preliminary hearing setting at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Long Beach in Department S01. He currently remains in custody on $4.5M bail.

Tautolo faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison if convicted as charged.
