A man was hospitalized after being stabbed by two women in the East Village neighborhood Thursday night, according to Long Beach police.

The man doesn’t know the attackers and it’s not yet clear why they stabbed him, LBPD spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said.

The attack happened around 7:55 p.m. in front of a home on Sixth Street near Linden Avenue, police said.

Dandoy said the man had stab wounds to his upper body when police arrived. Officers started giving him medical aid until fire department crews arrived and took him to the hospital to treat the injury, which wasn’t life-threatening, Dandoy said.

Police are still investigating and so far don’t have anyone in custody, she said.
