A person in a stolen vehicle led Los Angeles County Sheriffs deputies and California Highway Patrol officers on a chase that started on the 605 Freeway in Cerritos and ended in Long Beach on Sunday night.

“It was a stolen vehicle and they failed to yield at first until Sheriffs along with CHP stopped them,” Lt. Steve Marella said.

The two law enforcement agencies stopped the driver on the 22 Freeway near the Studebaker bridge shortly after 8:30 p.m.

The pursuit backed up traffic on the transitions to 405 and 605 freeways along the 22 Freeway.

It was unclear how many suspects were in the vehicle and what kind of vehicle police were pursuing.
