A teen was struck by gunfire in the Willmore area of Long Beach Thursday night, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials said.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of Chestnut Avenue at 8:28PM where they found a 14-year-old male victim with a gunshot injury, LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel transported the teen to a local hospital in stable condition. Officials said his injury did not appear to be life-threatening, according to Arrona.

There is no suspect information available. The investigation is ongoing.
