UPDATE | Authorities have identified the victim of an early morning shooting in a Long Beach alley Wednesday, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials.

Signal Hill resident Alicia Faith Todd, 21, was found dead by police in the east/west alley, between Orange and Lemon Avenues, north of 21st Street. She had gunshot wounds in her upper torso, according to officials.

No suspect information is available at this time and a motive for the shooting is unknown, authorities said.

06/24/15 10:30AM | Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers found a teen girl shot to death in a Long Beach alley early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of East 21st Street, north of Martin Luther King Junior Park, at 1:13AM where they found the victim—described as a black girl in her mid-to-late teens—who had been struck by gunfire in the upper torso, according to LBPD spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

The girl was found in an alley north of 21st Street and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) paramedics.

Authorities said the calling party reported hearing gunshots at about midnight but did not call police until they found the victim down in the alley.

Homicide detectives responded to the incident and are continuing their investigation.

There is no information regarding a suspect at this time.
