Theft victims will get a chance to see if their stolen property is among a stockpile of items recovered recently by Long Beach police during a display event scheduled for Sunday, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) announced today.

Authorities said victims may be able to retrieve the items once ownership has been verified, by providing police with a crime or loss report or other identifying documentation such as serial numbers, personal identifiers on the items, photos of equipment and purchase receipts.

Officers came across the stockpile on February 3 following a call of a reported leaf blower theft in the city’s Los Cerritos neighborhood. The stolen property includes gardening and plumbing equipment, construction tools and high-end bicycles.

“A detailed citywide investigation spanning several months culminated in the recovery of a large quantity of stolen property,” according to the LBPD. “Many of these items are believed to have been stolen from work trucks or in conjunction with the theft of the actual work truck.”

The event will be held on Sunday, March 13 at 600 West 15th Street from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.

If you have been the victim of a burglary or theft of items similar to the ones described above, you are urged to call the Burglary Detectives Tomb Neal or Daniel Molinar at 562.570.7351.
