Three people were injured during separate shooting incidents in Long Beach over the weekend, according to authorities.

Police believe two of the victims may have suffered injuries from self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona. A total of four shootings were reported, including three on Saturday and one on Sunday.

In the first shooting, officers responded to the 4000 block of Gardenia Avenue at 10:30AM regarding a “found property report” call, Arrona said.

Police found bullet casings in the street and damage to a street light and a residence, she added. No one was injured.

Authorities have continued to investigate the incident, and have yet to determine when the shooting occurred.

In the second shooting, police were dispatched at 10:15PM to a local hospital, where the victim had sustained a gunshot injury to the lower extremity was in stable condition, said Arrona.

The incident reportedly happened near 15th Street and Rose Avenue.

“Further investigation leads officers to believe the injury was self-inflicted,” she said.

A third shooting involved officers being dispatched at 11:45PM to a gunfire incident near 49th Street and Long Beach Boulevard.

Police determined a woman—who was in stable condition after sustaining a gunshot injury to her upper torso—was transported by family or friends to a local hospital prior to the officers’ arrival, according to Arrona.
