Two Long Beach men were charged with robbery and kidnapping Monday after a residential robbery late last week in Belmont Heights that involved a resident tied up and physically assaulted, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Louis Rouvoun Wade II, 25, and Courtney Quinnsean Griffin, 26, on Monday, February 1 with three felony counts each, including residential robbery, kidnapping to commit robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
Authorities said that at about 2:30PM on Thursday, January 28, officers were dispatched to an apartment on the 500 block of Ximeno Avenue in Belmont Heights regarding an unknown trouble call.
A man advised police dispatch that his male roommate called him and notified him of unknown persons in their apartment, police stated.
“The calling party said he could hear yelling and some sort of argument in the background and then the phone was hung-up,” a release stated. “He then immediately called the police.”
Officers arrived at the apartment within four minutes, during which they encountered a residential robbery in progress. The two men were immediately arrested without incident.
“Officers subsequently found the victim in a bedroom, tied up and appeared to have been physically assaulted,” authorities stated.
The victim’s stolen property was recovered.
The suspects were booked at Long Beach City Jail and are being held on $1.3 million bail.
