Two men showed up at a local hospital Wednesday evening with gunshot wounds they said they sustained during a shooting near the All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Long Beach police officials said.
Police were dispatched to the hospital regarding two men who walked in, each having been struck by gunfire, at 5:19PM on Wednesday, September 7, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.
“One victim was struck in the lower extremities, while the other was struck in the torso,” Arrona said. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries, she added.
The victims said the shooting happened on the 4700 block of Cherry Avenue, in the city’s Bixby Knolls area, but officers did not find a crime scene, according to officials.
Authorities are investigating the incident as possibly gang-related.
