A release by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) has detailed operations “Minor Decoy” and “Shoulder Tap,” led by the LBPD’s Vice Investigations Section, which focus on the selling and purchasing of alcohol to and for minors.

Partnering with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, the two operations resulted in eight citations over the course of the day on Monday, September 16; six from “Decoy,” focused on the selling of alcohol to minors and two from “Tap,” focused on adults purchasing of alcohol for minors.

Of the six citations for the selling of alcohol to a minor, the following businesses were cited:

  • 7-Eleven, 152 Pine Avenue
  • Silvers Liquor, 1700 E. Broadway
  • Wines Mess, 1770 E. Broadway
  • Cherry Beer Wine Market, 232 Cherry Avenue
  • Hody Lane Liquor, 5201 E. Pacific Coast Highway
  • CVS Pharmacy, 4570 Atlantic Avenue

It was also noted that during “Tap,” an additional citation was issued after witnesses noticed someone stealing alcohol.
