Authorities have identified a man who was fatally shot in Long Beach’s Lincoln neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Hawaiian Gardens resident Jose Ortiz-Marin, 32, died at the scene, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.

Officers responding to the incident at 3:24AM on Sunday, February 28 found the victim dead with a gunshot wound in the upper torso, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The body was found on the 1000 block of Norman Court, near Lincoln Elementary School.

“No one is in custody and no suspect information is available,” officials stated. “A motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing.”
