A Long Beach man said he’s hoping he can get some justice after posting a video that shows another driver storming out of a car and confronting him in the middle of the road in Signal Hill on Wednesday.

Robin Lim, a 24-year-old recent graduate from Cal State Long Beach, said he was on Orange Avenue just north of the 405 Freeway when he veered left to pass a Subaru SUV he thought was turning right at an intersection.

As he normally does, Lim had his dash-camera running, he said.

A moment or two after Lim makes the pass, the video shows the SUV overtake Lim from the left and then swerve in front of him where it lurches to a halt, forcing Lim to stop as well.

A man gets out, walks up to Lim’s door and starts yelling: “Learn how to [expletive] drive you piece of [expletive].”

Lim said the man then yanked on Lim’s car door handle.

“At that moment I was like, thank God my door’s locked,” Lim said.

The man hurls more insults before walking back to his car and driving off.

“Little Asian piece of [expletive],” he says at one point.

Lim posted the video on Youtube and shared it on Facebook and Reddit, asking if anyone recognized the man and warning others to look out for him.

He also called Signal Hill police who said they’re investigating the incident as a hit-and-run (Lim said his car slightly rear-ended the SUV when the driver slammed on the brakes in front of him).

But Lim said he’s now worried about his safety.

Through Facebook friends, Lim thinks he’s been able to track down the other driver. To his surprise, they have mutual acquaintances, he said.

“His wife is Cambodian. I’m Cambodian. We’re all connected that way,” Lim said.

Lim said he was able to identify the man to police but worries he’ll only be charged with a misdemeanor if anything.

“I want to know we’re safe out there,” Lim said. “At least get him some anger-management classes or give him some jail time so he learns his lesson.”

Police declined to provide any more details or confirm the man’s identity, saying they’re still investigating.
