The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) has released video footage of a shooting that occurred earlier this year in the hope that the public can provide additional information.

On March 24 at 7:50PM, LBPD responded to a call near 7th and Cerritos. Upon their arrival, it was discovered that a robbery occurred at Cerritos Mini Market, where the lone employee—an unidentified 53-year-old male—was shot in the upper torso by his attacker before the suspect took the register and fled the scene.

While the victim remained in critical condition at the hospital, LBPD continued their investigation and until now, has kept the video away from the public while a suspect description was being determined.

The public’s help is now being being sought with the video’s release, while the LBPD plans on coordinating a community canvassing outreach where they will go door-to-door in the hope of uncovering more information.

Anyone with information is urged to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Scott Lasch and Donald Goodman at 562-570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
